Rethatching - NOT amateur radio
In the nearby village of Lode there are many thatched cottages. One is having its thatched roof replaced, a job that takes many weeks. The one in the photo has been worked on for about 2 weeks already.

Trade mark - NOT amateur radio
When thatchers put new thatch on a roof they often leave a trade mark such as a pheasant, fox or dog made from straw on the roof apex. We saw this on our walk around the village on Saturday.

Re-thatching - NOT amateur radio
Thatched cottages need new roofs from time-to-time. They keep houses warm, but new thatch cannot come cheaply. We saw this a few days ago.

Thatched cottage - NOT amateur radio
A few years ago this cottage was extended. Looking at it one cannot tell.
They made an excellent job.

Thatched cottages - NOT amateur radio
Especially in nearby Norfolk and Suffolk, there are some very attractive villages. This is an example. This is about 15 minutes drive away.
