 With all that is happening in the world I can only conclude that evil is alive and well. We can argue about why it is there, but it IS there.  It would seem evil is part of the human condition.

LA fires - NOT amateur radio

The wildfires in Los Angeles look horrendous. It is so sad when whole districts are destroyed like this. On the whole, this was a natural disaster.

It makes me furious when Man causes destruction through wars that just aren't necessary such as in Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan. Surely, by now, you would think that we would have learnt from history. Obviously not.  Sadly, I can only conclude that Man really can be basically evil.

All we can do is to try is try to make the world a kinder and more compassionate place a step at a time.

Good and evil - NOT amateur radio

When I was younger I believed everyone was basically good and the evil they had was a result of upbringing or genes. These days I am not so sure.  That evil exists is not in doubt. In this world that we share there are plenty of signs.

It is my view that we are all capable of evil. That is what frightens me.  We all have to do our best to replace evil with good.

At the moment, the world seems to be going through a bad phase, with war in Ukraine and the Middle East.  

At one time, I thought people were basically good, but recent events have made me question this. It is as if pure evil is abroad.

It would seem humans are incapable of learning from history. Why are people unable to live in peace with their neighbours? We all share one planet. Wars rarely achieve anything.

One thing history teaches us - we never learn from history!  

Shortly after WW1 we were fighting in WW2. At the moment, there are 2 major conflicts in the world. All these conflicts have their roots in injustice. It pains me that humans seem incapable of living peacefully with others. Inevitably this hate boils over.

Sadly, I have come to the conclusion that human beings are evil. At one time, I thought we were all good at heart. Recent events make me doubt this.

My religious feelings are almost zero these days. However, I think evil does exist in this world, sadly. 

It would appear after 2 world wars and many subsequent wars, humans have learnt absolutely nothing. The Russian-Ukraine conflict and the Israel-Hamas conflict/war seem to confirm this. 

Surely after all this time, we would have learnt something. It would appear not.
