"Our" windmill next door - NOT amateur radio

As mentioned before, we live immediately next door to a fully restored 200 year old windmill.

Earlier this week our son took this photo at night.

Windmill in the sunshine - NOT amateur radio

This is the windmill next door to us yesterday.

The sun came out after lunch.

We can see it from the breakfast table and from the lounge.

"Our" windmill late yesterday afternoon - NOT amateur radio

This was the windmill next door late on Thursday afternoon.

The hedge in front is ours.

We get a good view when we have breakfast and in the lounge where this photo was taken.

Our local windmill - NOT amateur radio

We are lucky to live right next door to a fully restored windmill. We can see it from the lounge and breakfast table.

The windmill is part of our local museum, which is probably one of the best local museums in the whole country.

Our bungalow - NOT amateur radio

Our local museum and windmill are just across the way from us. We have just been to an end of season "mini party" for all volunteers. One photo shows our bungalow (and a bit of the windmill!). It was taken on our way home. The other shows the party.

Inside the windmill - NOT amateur radio

The outside of the windmill next door has featured many times on this blog.

The inside (as far as I recall) has never been on, until now. This is inside the windmill.

Cherry picker - NOT amateur radio

Our local windmill volunteers have hired a cherry picker (aerial hydraulic platform) to inspect the windmill sails.

A cherry picker is so named as such devices were used originally to harvest fruits.

“Our” windmill - NOT amateur radio

This has been on many times, but this was the view from the lounge on a nice, sunny afternoon just now.

At one time some of our grandchildren thought the area in front of the windmill was part of our garden! We own the hedge you can see in front, but not the windmill!

The windmill is fully restored and the sails go round sometimes.

Sunset - NOT amateur radio

Although "our" windmill was on yesterday, I think this sunset photo, taken by my wife last evening,  is too good not to share. It's our laurel hedge in the foreground and this was taken through the lounge window.

Classic Car Day - NOT amateur radio

This day at our museum next door is always popular with stacks of classic cars. The windmill sails are turning on a glorious morning.

There were several vintage cars at our local museum and windmill on Sunday.

Bikes at the windmill - NOT amateur radio

Yesterday it was briefly sunny and these bikers 🚴 enjoyed a visit to the windmill next door.

By the way, this is our hedge in the front.

Distant thunder - NOT amateur radio

Between the showers, we were trying to do some gardening.

The photo (yet again!) is of the windmill next door with storm clouds behind just now.

Wicken windmill

One of our favourite walks is to Wicken Fen, where we have a bite to eat. Wicken also has a village windmill (shown in the photo).
