More Mildenhall - NOT amateur radio

Yesterday, I put a photo of the river at Mildenhall. Here is another.  It shows the swans and ducks swimming towards us hoping to be fed.

Mildenhall, Suffolk - NOT amateur radio

We went to Mildenhall today, hoping to visit the little museum with our grandchildren. Sadly the museum was closed until  March, but we visited the church and river.

USAF strength - NOT amateur radio

We live close to Lakenheath and Mildenhall airbases. I am not sure what was going on, but a few moments ago there was a big plane being escorted by smaller planes and helicopters. They made quite a noise as they went overhead, so much so that I had to look. I thought Trump was coming to the UK later. Perhaps this was a dress rehearsal.

Mildenhall Museum - NOT amateur radio

This is a small, local museum with free entry that is manned by volunteers.

For some reason our "London" grandchildren love going there. The photo shows one of our granddaughters there over the Easter weekend.

Museum visit - NOT amateur radio

It is funny, but our grandchildren seem to love museums! Today we had to revisit the small (free) museum at Mildenhall, Suffolk. We also had a request to visit the church there again.

Riverside walk - NOT amateur radio

This morning we did a walk from Mildenhall to the village of Barton Mills and back to Mildenhall along the River Lark.  It was classic kingfisher country, although we saw none. Instead lots of mute swans, mallards and Canada Geese. A delightful walk and probably my longest walk since my stroke a few years ago (4km).

Mildenhall is better known for its US airbase, which is closing. I am not sorry as I found this base very threatening. Mildenhall is actually a very pleasant Suffolk town with some fine buildings, church and museum. Barton Mills is a delightful village too.
