During this week is a chance to get slow scan TV from the ISS. This video may help. SSTV is not something I have done seriously.

Interesting space photo - NOT amateur radio
This photo appeared on “The Knowledge “ earlier although I think it was on Flickr before. It shows sunrise from the ISS.

Bravery - NOT amateur radio
Although quite a few people have been been to space, it is still hazardous. Later, a crew is blasting off to the International Space Station on a private Space-X rocket. Rather them than me!
There are quite a few apps that allow you to see where the ISS is and what can be seen from their cameras.

Tim Peake - NOT amateur radio
Thankfully, Tim Peake who had spent 6 months on board the ISS, has returned safely to Earth. He has done much for the UK in space. We must not forget that space is still a hazardous environment. Getting back from space is still very hazardous.

Tim Peake - NOT amateur radio
After 6 months in orbit on the ISS, UK astronaut Tim Peake returns to Earth tomorrow, Sunday, in a Russian Soyuz space module. Re-entry is always hazardous, so we all wish him a safe trip back to Earth. Rather him than me!
It is funny how we are friends with Russia in so many ways, yet there is still distrust of them and them of us in the West. The sooner we all learn that the Cold War ended in 1989 the better for us all.

ISS - not
It turns out my recent message purporting to have been sent for the International Space Station (ISS) was not from there at all, but from a tent in Wales! Not quite sure why people get a kick from this? It all seems a bit silly to me. Previously this person's account was sending out dodgy links and I informed him of this. Be warned - all may not be what it seems.

Email from space?
Just had an email with this at the end:
"Sent from the ISS ...-.-"
I am assuming this came from the International Space Station (ISS).
If correct, this is a first for me.

ISS Flash Project
Guido PE1NNZ has sent me this interesting link about a recent experiment with the International Space Station using optical frequencies. See http://www.cqdx.ru/ham/ham_radio/iss-flash-project/ .
