At Easter, it can be very busy!   

In the last few days, we have seen all our grandchildren and had 2 staying here. The photo was of our granddaughters yesterday.

This was last weekend on a walk with 2 of our grandchildren. We were playing a game of "Pooh Sticks" when a stick is dropped on one side of the bridge and one waits on the other side of bridge for it to emerge.

Break? - NOT amateur radio

We love seeing our grandchildren, but at our age we get more tired, sooner. We have a break of about 7 days before they come again for a few days. It is a chance to "recharge batteries".  

Maybe it is a chance to try some new amateur radio stuff?  Maybe that SDR or 23cms?

At one time our elder grandson contacted us most nights. He has now got more friends his age who share his interests, so we are less of a crutch. All part of growing up, and totally natural.

Suddenly it is autumn. A week ago our ornamental cherry tree still looked green. Now the leaves have turned brown and with a gust of wind loads of leaves will fall. Another few weeks and it will be bare until the spring. 

This morning, before returning home my son cut my hair and took a photo of my wife and I with 2 of the grandchildren.

Like many, we enjoy seeing our grandchildren. We were fortunate to see them all over the last few weeks. Many grandparents overseas have been less fortunate.

For the first time in many months our grandchildren met up together, socially distanced. 3 of our 4 are in the photo. One is just off the photo.

I shall be glad when they can all meet properly again inside houses.

One of our sons came for a night with his children. This autumn scene was this morning in our back garden.  Another week or so and all these leaves will be gone.

Our younger grandson is very observant. A walk that should have been 1 hour took far longer!

Yesterday one of our sons visited us with 2 of our grandchildren. We had not seen them in the flesh for months because of lockdown. We had only seen them via Zoom.

We had lunch in the garden on a nice sunny day and did our best to maintain social distancing. It was good to see them again.

We love seeing all our little grandchildren.  As they have all gone home, our house is quiet again.
