Today, we had our first real frost. We had one the day before, but not as cold. We are more used to mild weather these days, but today is bitter for us. It is about +2 degrees Celsius maximum, which is cold for here in the daytime. I can hear readers in Canada and Scandinavia saying," you think that is cold?". It is sunny and bright, so I don't mind the cold.

Cold and wet? - NOT amateur radio
Certainly in this part of the UK it has felt colder and wetter this year. It is already May and it feels wet and cold.
We did some gardening yesterday, but we could certainly not today.
We popped to the garden centre to buy some new plants, but my wife came inside from our garden as she was too cold!

A cold - NOT amateur radio
For the last few days I have had a cold. Now I have given it to my wife! Just in case it was Omicron Covid-19 we both have done a couple of lateral flow tests that proved negative. It looks like it is a common cold.
It is several years since I have had a streaming nose and sore throat. I am largely recovered.
Let's hope Omicron turns out to be milder and we can all treat it like a common cold seeking medical help only when needed. Life could then go back to (nearly) as it was.

Laid low - NOT amateur radio
For the last couple of days I have been suffering from a head cold. At the best of times I am usually giddy and exhausted, but at the moment I feel really unwell: a walk to the local shop this morning really did me in. A few days and I should be better.
I think this is a cold rather than flu. Plenty of lemon and honey!

Shaking off a cold - NOT amateur radio
I have had a cold for a week now. Last weekend I was rough with it and
felt really under the weather. A week later, although I no longer feel
unwell, I still have a runny nose. It is taking longer to shake off the
symptoms. It is some years since I last recall having a classic cold.
