Village cottage - NOT amateur radio
This cottage in our village has had its rendering removed to reveal its clunch (a kind of chalk) walls. Clunch was widely used locally.

Clunch cottage - NOT amateur radio
Many of the older cottages in our village are made of clunch. This is a kind of chalk.
On the way to the shops today, we noticed this cottage that had been stripped of its rendering. It looks really good.
Clunch is quite strong, but needs to be protected to stop weathering.

Clunch - NOT amateur radio
This photo shows a house in our village that is having its plaster removed to reveal the clunch beneath. Clunch is a kind of chalk commonly used as a building material locally.

Village magazine - NOT amateur radio
Although I don't think that this has been posted before please accept my apologies if it has! Since 1975 we have had a village magazine free every 2 months. It is a mix of local news and adverts.

Clunch - NOT amateur radio
Clunch is a local building stone used in many buildings in our village. It is a kind of chalk.
It is also the name of our free village magazine that drops through our postbox every 2 months. It is A5 size and has been going since 1975, about the time we came to the village.
It is a mix of local news and adverts for local firms.

Clunch outhouse - NOT amateur radio
For weeks now they have been rebuilding a clunch (kind of chalk) outhouse not far from our home. As I passed today, I noticed they had put half the roof on. The other half of the roof has still to be tiled.

Clunch outhouse - NOT amateur radio
Clunch is a kind of chalk. Many walls and buildings around here are made of clunch. The out-building in the photo was badly cracked in the heat last summer, so they decided to rebuild it. The old roof timbers are propped against the wall, which is also clunch I think.

Clunch building - NOT amateur radio
Not far from us is a small cottage with a clunch outhouse. This outhouse cracked very badly last summer. They pulled it down and are now rebuilding it with the original clunch stones. By the way clunch is a kind of chalk. I think the window is new.

Clunch outhouse - NOT amateur radio
My mind is confused and I don't think this has been posted before. If it has been on before, my apologies!
Close to our house is an out-house, or maybe dove-cote, made of clunch (a sort of chalk) that was badly damaged by our hot summer. Big cracks appeared and now it is being rebuild using the same stones. The photo shows before rebuilding started.

Rockbound?
Walking home from the bus stop today I noticed a tiny piece of clunch on the ground, a local chalk stone from the Cretaceous age, the period of geological time approximately 143-65 million years ago. In the stone were two small fossil shells. Amazing to think these two creatures were living not far from my home all that time ago.
....and radio is only just over 100 years old.
