Dutch breakfast - NOT amateur radio

This was my breakfast in Amsterdam back in September. It was about half the price of breakfast in the hotel.

We thought it was worth walking 300m.

Farmshop breakfast - NOT amateur radio

The photo shows our sons and one of our grandsons eating breakfast this morning at our local farm shop.

Although not low cost, they do make a nice breakfast. Ideal as a treat.

Breakfast - NOT amateur radio

This photo shows my breakfast yesterday.

It was fried banana skins (edible and rich in potassium) with onions, garlic, cheese and chutney on a toasted roll.

Delicious.

Breakfast joke? - NOT amateur radio

For breakfast I had a chickpea burger and bacon. The burger had chickpeas, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, herbs and Marmite and egg plus some flour to bind it.  On reflection, I would prefer the egg separately. The burger was delicious.

The amaryllis has just flowered this week.

Breakfast? - NOT amateur radio

This has appeared on social media several times.

As much as I like the occasional fry-up, even I would struggle!

Some would be very much against this.

Breakfast - NOT amateur radio

Most mornings I eat a cooked breakfast. This sets me up for the day. It is cooked in just a drop of oil.

Some may consider this unhealthy. Personally, I enjoy it. A few years ago eggs were thought unhealthy. As far as I am concerned a little of what you like is fine.

Cooked breakfast - NOT amateur radio

When away, I enjoy a cooked breakfast. This week, in Cheshire, was no exception. This was the breakfast at the Bear's Head in Brereton. Some will say it is unhealthy, but it fills you up for the day.

Well trained? - NOT amateur radio

Yesterday I think I showed my son, who was staying with us for a few days, eating the breakfast he had cooked.  The photo shows him washing up afterwards.

It's usually my job, but he insisted I sat down. Usually at breakfast and just after I feel very giddy.

Breakfast - NOT amateur radio

For the last few days we have had one of our sons and his family staying here. For that period he got breakfast. Normally, I do breakfasts. It was a real treat.

The photo shows him eating his breakfast today. They have now gone home.

Patio breakfast - NOT amateur radio

Eating outside is a novelty in the UK. Usually it is too cold. For several days now we have had really warm weather (for us) so we decided to have breakfast on the patio. We'll probably have lunch outside too.  As you can see from the photo, our grass is brown. Given a decent downpour it recovers!

American hotels and breakfast - NOT amateur radio

One of my first surprises on trips to the USA was that few (no?) hotels offer breakfast. They expect you to get this down the road. Most have places to eat very nearby, but if you are not used to this it comes as a surprise. I have an old work colleague who is in Indiana for a conference and he was caught out. The hotel and conference centre was a place to meet and sleep, but little else.

Once, in eastern Canada, we stopped for breakfast at a roadside cafe. There were 6 fried eggs and lots more on the plate. It was huge. We did not go hungry!
