After many years, our old bank is being converted to commercial units. One of these is to be a hairdressers. People who know me know that I cannot take advantage of this!

Coming on - NOT amateur radio
Like many English villages, we no longer have a bank. Thankfully, there are several options for getting cash from our bank including our local Post Office, which is actually easier than traditional "holes in the wall".

What next? - NOT amateur radio
The only bank in our village has been closed for about 2 years. As the photo shows, they have the builders in and are hoping to rent out commercial units for £12k per year.
It has a central location and could make an ideal spot for small shops with a parking bay outside. Why so long?

One year on - NOT amateur radio
About a year ago, the only bank in our village closed. It has still not sold. The plot is central and I am quite surprised it wasn't snapped up.

Closed Bank - NOT amateur radio
The only bank in our village closed last week. It now looks very sad. A couple walked up to the cash machine. They were in for a rude surprise as this has gone, replaced with a hole covered with brown wood!

Bank closing - NOT amateur radio
Like many branches, the only bank in our village closes tomorrow. Our nearest bank is 4 miles away. Like many, we bank online and get money from a cash machine. It is closing because of lack of use. We are to blame.

Sign of the times? - NOT amateur radio
Apart from getting cash from a machine, we rarely use our local bank these days. Not surprisingly, it is closing on November 10th.
There is a Post Office just across the road where you can pay bills to any bank, get foreign exchange and cash.
To be honest, I am surprised the only bank in the village has lasted as long as it has. We've been in the village since 1975 and the bank has been here all that time. I expect they will build yet more posh houses on the plot!
