It looks like the fungi (or is it lichen?) is changing colour.

I think this log at nearby Anglesey Abbey was on the blog some months ago.

Anglesey Abbey yesterday - NOT amateur radio
Yesterday we met some friends at Anglesey Abbey. There was rain overnight and rain this afternoon, but we chose a dry patch in between luckily.

Anglesey Abbey - NOT amateur radio
This National Trust property is not far from us. We went for a walk there earlier.
In each season there is something to see. At the moment, it is a good time to see dahlias.

Anglesey Abbey walk - NOT amateur radio
This is a National Trust property with extensive grounds not far from us by car. We went there yesterday (early) for a walk.
This is a collage my wife made.
The bottom photo is two old friends we bumped into with the same idea!

Anglesey Abbey - NOT amateur radio
The photo shows my wife at nearby Anglesey Abbey on Friday on a (rare) sunny day. At the moment this is probably the dullest summer I can remember. We have had far more rain than usual. Often the grass turns brown by now, but it still looks green at the moment.

Anglesey Abbey, near Cambridge, yesterday - NOT amateur radio
The photo shows Anglesey Abbey, near Cambridge, yesterday where we went for a walk with friends we met at university in 1967.
It was very muddy and mild. Someone told me that as the planet warms, we can expect more clouds and more rain in the UK. Certainly we have had a lot of rain in the last few years.

Proud granddad - NOT amateur radio
Earlier in the week, we visited nearby Anglesey Abbey with one of our granddaughters. The snowdrops are a picture, but they are now past their best. Next it will be daffodils.

Anglesey Abbey - NOT amateur radio
We go for a walk in the grounds of this National Trust property near Cambridge every month probably. Parts of the house are very old. The gardens have something to see in every season.
Being only a few kilometers away makes it very convenient. Should it ever be closed, there are some great walks in the village of Lode nearby.

Herbaceous Border - NOT amateur radio
This was the herbaceous garden at nearby Anglesey Abbey earlier this week. The border displays look wonderful, if short lived. We will blink and the herbaceous garden will be closed and looking dead. They will be tended and look good again next year.

What is it? - NOT amateur radio
This plant was in the herbaceous garden at Anglesey Abbey.
I should know the name but I don't.
UPDATE 2130z: See below it looks like it is called the King's Spear.

Anglesey Abbey - NOT amateur radio
This path at nearby Anglesey Abbey is lined with snowdrops. On the trees, buds are appearing. It can turn much colder, but there are signs of spring all around.
