Until this year I had never heard of this phrase. This year, I have heard it several times. Maybe I have led a too sheltered life!
I am wondering if it was a common phrase in the UK before?
Simple QRP projects, 10m, 8m, 6m, 4m, FT8, 160m, WSPR, LF/MF, sub-9kHz, nanowaves and other random stuff, some not related to amateur radio.

Just before tea I QSYed to 10m FT8 using my ready built 10m QDX-M. Although the TX works fine, I cannot work out what is wrong with the RX...

My wife and I have a saying for this very thing, we call it leaf peepers. The reason being that one year I asked her if she had heard of the term "leaf peepers", I had just seen it a few times randomly over a couple month period and had never heard of the term. She laughed as she had just seen it recently as well and had never heard the term before.
So now, whenever we hear a surprisingly new term for something and it's being used a lot we are like, "leaf peepers".
