Today, with lots of young swallows, I saw one late swift. I think this is the latest I have ever seen one in the UK. Most have now gone.

In my opinion we have just passed the solar peak. We can expect a few years of good conditions, but I expect the trajectory to be slowly dow...

I have seen swallows all in a line on the power lines near my house, they are getting fidgety but suppose they will be here for a bit longer.
Swifts normally fly south by mid-August. Swallows usually leave by the end of September.
