As well as the usual crop of 6m FT8 European stations received via Es yesterday I spotted D2UY (6525km) . Call me suspicious, but I suspect this was a pirate in Europe. Does anyone know if this is genuine?
Simple QRP projects, 10m, 8m, 6m, 4m, FT8, 160m, WSPR, LF/MF, sub-9kHz, nanowaves and other random stuff, some not related to amateur radio.

I believe it is a station in the Donbas region of Ukraine. Some there regard themselves as being separate from Ukraine hence the different prefix. I have seen and heard several stations using the D1 or D2 prefix.

D2UY was the prefix of a dxepedition in Africa. I have copied them many times on 10m FT8. 73s Roger G3XBM
D2UY is genuine. Worked this DXCC a while ago. This station can be quite strong sometimes. Most of the time be heard late in the evening. 73, Bas
