Oscar 100 - what a waste!!

Every few weeks I give an update about activity on the geosynchronous satellite Oscar 100. OK, my last peek was in a weekday mid-morning in Europe. There was nobody on!  Nobody!! OK I may have been unlucky, but this follows a pattern.

Oscar 100 is seriously underused. Judging by this experience I cannot seeing people rushing to launch another!

Multiple band HF frequencies cheaper to access these days, worldwide coverage, with excellent conditions at the moment, driven by high sunspot count.

Hence QO100 is just a niche specialist premium band, for the SHF geeks, limited coverage, transmission equipment not cheap, due to very little black box production, especially at an access level price?

The links below may be useful. It seems that a 30W power amplifier is used. Perhaps 5 or 10 Watts would be okay with a bigger antenna.
