Some people suffer horrendous interference that make operating HF and 6m virtually impossible. At the moment I am not one of these, but will I soon be affected too?

Not only suffering from VDSL(2) QRM but also causing interference at your neighbours. Many are already affected here in the Netherlands. I had it myself and found a solution in the end.
