160m conditions are changing?

As I have said before, I am no 160m expert. Last night was the first time this winter when not a single North American was spotted on 160m FT8 RX. Just one South American spotted: HK3W (8507km). The impression I am getting is 160m conditions are changing.

I was definitely going to agree with you Roger, but since 6.20 this morning I have heard 14 US stations according to PSK Reporter, including two at 8.30 am and still one at 9.27 am - in broad daylight here.
Sigs were -3 to - 23, but I couldn't contact the three strongest that I tried to raise. Possibly due to power disparity, but mainly because my base-loaded 7.5m Inverted-L is a bit of a sky-warmer and struggles to reach 1.5km on top band at best.
Time for an antenna re-think!

Thanks Phil. I shall try 160m FT8 RX again tonight and leave it running until well after breakfast.
