Sunspots and 10m - Thurs Oct 8th 2015

Forget it! Go and cut the grass instead.

With a sunspot number of 24 (K=6) and 10m propagation (in fact all HF) expected to be "poor" today HF conditions are not expected to be any good today.

Yesterday I was not on the radio at all -I was ill and I still feel well below normal - and "Sod's Law"applied: my absence corresponded withe the best MF propagation in years.

Anyway, the 10m 500mW WSPR beacon has been turned on and is active, more in hope than expectation.

10m (much like 6m) is full of surprises.
During this magnetic storm I had not expected much, but last night signals from Northern Scandinavia suddenly popped up on 10, and aurora signals on 6m with the vertical.
This morning (near noon local time) I was surprised to see a K of 6, *and* a signal from S79.
The morale is - when it comes to 10 and 6m : Never give up, never surrender ;)

Nice one Alan. Often when HF is poor MF and LF are good.

Was this WSPR?
