If you want a range "sure fire" crystal oscillator designs to suit fundamental and various overtone modes you should check out the "Oscillators" page on the QuartSLab website. This has details of circuit values and configurations that will really work. Most of these designs are ones I recognise from my days at Pye/Philips PMR, so I know they are reliable and well tried.

I have checked quartslab but could not find about Oscillators.
Look on the left hand side of the website for the section called "Oscillators".
At the bottom of their oscillators page are a series of links to pages describing various different oscillator configurations with schematics and values.
Hello, maybe you can help me please? I'm a noob and I'm trying to repair my GE cordless phone base.

The oscillator had some glue-like substance coming out so is it possible to buy one oscillator? I mean is that a standard piece (ATS 4.096 18PF) is it worthwhile to search for one? Do you belive RadioShack may have one? Or can I use other speed?

Anonymous - you can buy a 4.096MHz crystal from several places for around $0.75. Do a Google - it throws up lots of suppliers.
