Anglesey Abbey walk - NOT amateur radio
We are lucky to live just a few miles away from Anglesey Abbey, which is a great place for a walk. We went there after lunch with one of our grandchildren.
Even though it was meant to be cold we actually felt quite warm. It was very sunny with clear blues sky.

Anglesey Abbey earlier - NOT amateur radio
This morning, we went for a walk around Anglesey Abbey. The snowdrops are mostly gone and the daffodils are coming. They will be at their best in about 2 weeks.

2012 - NOT amateur radio
At the moment it is very mild here unlike in 2012 when it was cold and frosty.
The photo was taken at nearby Anglesey Abbey on this day in 2012.

Anglesey abbey - NOT amateur radio
The collage shows nearby Anglesey Abbey a few days ago. It is owned by the National Trust.
We walk there most weeks. It is about 1.2 miles around the winter walk and not very muddy.
The other walk we do there is a bit further, but very muddy at the moment!

At nearby Anglesey Abbey, some of the silver birch trees have their bark washed so they look at their best. See the photo.

Anglesey Abbey in dull November - NOT amateur radio
We went for a walk this morning around the nearby National Trust place at Anglesey Abbey.
At this time of year it looks quite drab. In the summer the herbaceous flowers and dahlias look good and in the winter there are masses of snowdrops and daffodils.
Yes, there are a few autumnal colours to enjoy, but......

National Trust visit - NOT amateur radio
No café, so just a hut selling snacks |
It was surreal with so few people. It felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was good to be back.

Daphne - NOT amateur radio
These plants can have a wonderful scent. The Daphne Mezerium was one of my day's favourites.

The end of winter is in sight - NOT amateur radio
A few days ago we visited nearby Anglesey Abbey. Although we are in the middle of winter, there are already signs of new life appearing, as the collage shows.

Water mill - NOT amateur radio
Most months we go for a walk at Anglesey Abbey. It is about 5-7 minutes by car. Every month there is something new to see in the grounds. There are formal gardens and wild parts. Even when busy, it is possible to find quiet spots.
The photo shows the water mill there. In the summer it is busy with visitors, although in mid-winter it is much quieter.

Reflections - NOT amateur radio
Most months we go for a walk at nearby Anglesey Abbey. We were expecting to see the first daffodils out, but these were still a few weeks off. It was a cold, but bright, day.
We have had some very wet days. It has been very wet over here in East Anglia, which is normally the driest part of the UK. This photo shows the mill leat.
The collage was created by my wife. It show various things at Anglesey Abbey. We are lucky having this so near.

Sunshine - NOT amateur radio
As the sun was shining brightly we went for a walk at Anglesey Abbey. It was cold at 6 degrees C but we were surprised to see a choir singing. I have to admit, I thought this was a recording at first!
