Simple QRP projects, 10m, 8m, 6m, 4m, FT8, 160m, WSPR, LF/MF, sub-9kHz, nanowaves and other random stuff, some not related to amateur radio.

In my opinion we have just passed the solar peak. We can expect a few years of good conditions, but I expect the trajectory to be slowly dow...

Having read the article in the latest Radcom re 70mW of WSPR for the Queen’s Jubilee, out of interest I ran 70mW ERP on 7 MHz overnight.
I was spotted by 133 different stations, the furthest being several reports from the Canary Islands at just under 3000kms.
Antenna is a 7MHz EFHW about 2m above ground.
Quite pleasantly surprised how far such a small amount of RF can get, even recognising the ability of WSPR decoding.
