Shetland - NOT amateur radio

The photo shows Compass Head in the Shetland Islands. It was on 365project yesterday.  Shetland is the most northerly part of Scotland and at one time belonged to Norway, a country with which these islands have close links even today.

Shetland Is - NOT amateur radio

This is a view of part of the Shetland Is posted yesterday by a friend on 365project

One of the great things with this free platform is peeking at different parts of the world.

In the UK we have a great variety of scenery. Shetland has few trees because of the high winds. Nonetheless, it has a certain unique beauty.

These islands are the furthermost northerly part of Scotland. They are often bleak and windswept with few trees.

The Shetland Isles - NOT amateur radio

Although a distant part of Scotland nowadays, the Shetland Isles once belonged to Norway. There are still strong links with Norway.

There are few trees on Shetland and often gales and poor weather. Summer days are long as are winter nights.

Occasionally the weather is good as in this photo posted on 365project by a friend today.
