Going back very many centuries (mid 1500s) I can trace my family history continuously to Hope Cove in South Devon.
It is probable that one of my ancestors thousands of years ago manned the promontory Iron Age fort visible in the distance in the photo. Quite humbling.

If you really want to know about that Iron Age fort then you could probably find out by having a DNA test. My understanding is that the people who were in that area in the Iron Age were probably replaced by later invaders. I think Saxons would have taken any good country along that part of the south coast. Think hard before any DNA test however because you may not get the answer you think you will.
