Hope Cove, Devon, UK
My family can be traced continuously back to the mid 1500s in this Devon village. Most days I look at the webcam at the Cottage Hotel there to see the weather.

Where I come from - NOT amateur radio
Going back very many centuries (mid 1500s) I can trace my family history continuously to Hope Cove in South Devon.
It is probable that one of my ancestors thousands of years ago manned the promontory Iron Age fort visible in the distance in the photo. Quite humbling.

Hope Cove, Devon webcam - NOT amateur radio
My family history can be traced continuously to Hope Cove, Devon in the mid 1500s. That is a generation before the Spanish Armada!
I check the weather there on the webcam at the Cottage Hotel in Hope Cove. The photo is a snapshot from the webcam. I have had lunch there and it was very good.

Hope Cove, Devon - NOT amateur radio
I can trace my family history continuously back to the mid 1500s in Hope Cove, Devon, UK. This is shown in the photo.
The headland is called Bolt Tail, the site of an Iron Age fort. It is quite possible that one of my ancestors manned this!

Do we never learn from history? - NOT amateur radio
One thing seems to be certain: we never, ever learn from history!
In the last few years we have had destructive wars in Ukraine and Gaza.
I am pretty sure my ancestors manned an Iron Age fort near Hope Cove where we can trace our family back to the mid 1500s. The photo shows Hope Cove and the Iron Age fort at Bolt Tail.
Sadly war and fighting seem to be part of the human condition.

Family history - NOT amateur radio
My family history can be traced back continuously to the mid 1500s in South Devon. One of my earliest ancestors was William of Hope. The photo shows the village of Hope Cove probably in the late 1800s or early 1900s. There is an Iron Age fort on the promontory nearby known as Bolt Tail. It is quite possible that one of my ancestors helped man it. Quite humbling.
