Usually in the first few days of the month, my favourite site for solar data does an update. Watch out for this. Last month, the maximum for solar cycle 25 was expected November 2023.

Updated solar data
As we are early in the month, my favourite site for solar data gets updated with the latest figures.
At the moment, the peak of solar cycle 25 is expected in November 2023 with a peak of 141. I cannot recall what way of averaging was used. If this peak date is the case, HF conditions could be good for several years to come.
I recall spotting South Americans at the very minimum on 10m FT8. This is why FT8 could be so useful. I like FT8 as it allows easy monitoring of even short openings.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy good conditions! When conditions are good, SSB, FM and AM QSOs can be had with low power on 10m.

Higher than expected solar peak?
At the moment, we are on target for a solar peak higher than we expected.
This could cause higher disruption to telecoms infrastructure, but openings stronger on the higher HF bands and 6m. For radio amateurs, this could be good news.

Solar forecast
My favourite site for solar data is usually updated early in the month. Based on the last few days, things are looking promising. It has been updated earlier today.
At the moment, this solar cycle looks a bit better than the last one.
4 Apr 2022
Solar data update
My favourite site for solar data has been updated. It still looks like future forecasts have been upgraded, suggesting this could be a better solar cycle than was once expected.

Solar data update
Early in the month, my favourite site for solar data usually updates the information. It is now April 2nd 2022 and the data has not yet been updated. So far, the signs are quite encouraging that this cycle will be at least as good as the last. Mind you, the last one was quite weak! I have not seen recent forecasts.

Solar data update
Usually in the early days of the month my favourite site for solar information updates it's data.

Solar data update soon
Usually on the first or second day of the month the solar data on my favourite solar data site is updated. Expect an update Tuesday or Wednesday.

Latest solar data
The latest solar data has been updated. By any analysis, the last few weeks have been good with decent solar flux and sunspot numbers for this part of the cycle.
Of course, we have to be careful not to look at the detail, but at the averages. It still looks like the next peak will be similar to the last i.e. not huge. At the moment cycle 25 looks very similar to cycle 24. If this is correct, we should expect similar conditions. 10m should be good, but F2 openings on 6m will be rare. This is where an 8m band could prove useful: how often does the MUF just exceed 40MHz?

Solar conditions
Both the solar flux and sunspot number are good today. I know that solar conditions can vary widely, but today the numbers are good.
I have not seen the latest predictions, but this cycle is definitely not a "non event".
2 Dec 2021
Solar cycle 25 latest
At the moment it looks like the current solar cycle (25) will be very similar to the last one and that a big peak is unlikely. At the moment, it is very slightly better than the last one.

Solar predictions
My favourite website for solar data usually updates early in the month. The last I heard was the forecast for the next solar peak was slightly better than the last peak. We seem to be slightly ahead of predictions. Solar activity forecasting is becoming better as time goes by, but predictions vary wildly.

Updated solar data
It is pretty clear from 10m that we have "turned a corner" and 10m is once again a great F2 DX band. At times it behaves like a VHF band, whereas, when the solar flux and sunspots are better, it transforms into arguably our very best HF DX band.
Usually early in the month my favourite site for solar data is updated. At the time of writing this had not yet happened, but it might have when you read this.
As I recall things, predictions were that Cycle 25 would be similar to Cycle 24 with a peak expected 2024 or 2025.

Solar data
As far as I know, we do not yet have accurate forecasts for the size of the next solar peak. Forecasts are getting better as we understand more of the mechanisms of the sun. Many were expecting it to be much the same as the last peak. Actually, the forecasts vary from almost no peak at all (wrong) to a big peak!
My money (based on a wet finger!) is much the same as the last peak.
One of the sites I regularly look at is https://www.solen.info/solar/. The last time I looked the data had not yet been updated, although it usually is early in the month. It is probably worth checking over the next few days.

Solar update
My favourite website for solar data has been updated. It would appear cycle 25 looks very similar to the last one. I predict we'll see regular F2 openings to the USA this autumn.
14 May 2021
Cycle 25 predictions
We are now on the up-slopes towards the solar peak of cycle 25. I have not seen very recent forecasts but this forecast suggested it looks as if it will be very similar to the last peak i.e. quite low.

Updated solar data
If you are like me you will be keen to see the latest solar data. My favourite site (solan) for solar data has been updated. Numbers have been increased yet again. Hopeful signs. I have no idea what the latest peak will look like.

UPDATE 0834z: At the moment this solar cycle looks very similar to the last one.

UPDATE 1011z: I see the page has just been updated.
UPDATE 1910z: See http://www.solen.info/solar/images/comparison_recent_cycles.png . At the moment we do not look on track for a great cycle 25. It looks very similar to the last cycle.

Updated solar data
My favourite website for solar data is usually updated early each month. Often this is on the 1st or 2nd of the month. Included, usually, is a forecast of the climb towards the next solar peak. It is worth checking.
