Record temperatures

The UK has experienced the hottest June day since records began. Europe has seen similar record breaking temperatures.

Real climate change. I can think of someone who won’t agree. Wait until dust bowl conditions return in the USA.

UPDATE 1526z:  Safely home. Journey was actually very trouble free.

Record UK Summer - NOT amateur radio

It looks like England has just had its hottest summer since records began. The UK as a whole saw temperatures matching those seen in previous hot summers.

Hot and sunny - NOT amateur radio

Something unusual has appeared in the UK skies. I think it is called "the sun". 😊

Actually it has been hot now for several days. Today we even had breakfast in the garden. For us in the UK this is a rare treat. Summer time, the temperature is often pleasantly warm at 18-22 deg C, but it has been HOT in recent days. Even sitting in the shade at breakfast felt warm and comfortable.

This robin (see photo) preferred the fat balls to the mealworms (eventually).

More hot sun and flying ants - NOT amateur radio

For about a week now we have had better summer weather in this part of the UK. Temperatures have been in the mid 20s to low 30s (deg C) all week. We had one big storm which dropped humidity, but yesterday and today are hot.

It is also "flying ant season". Whilst I was out yesterday, we had hundreds of flying ants in our bedroom. I gather these larger, flying ants are queens. They come out on mass to mate. It is usually just one day, then they are gone. The hot weather has not helped.
