Crab apples - NOT amateur radio

We have just one crab apple tree.

After masses of flowers in the spring, there are now lots of fruit. These are about 1cm diameter.

All being well, I shall make a couple of jars of crab apple jelly as in past years. It is delicious with some meats.

Crab apple jelly - NOT amateur radio

Every autumn I harvest my crab apples and make crab apple jelly, which is delicious on some meats.

This was the harvest from our single tree today.

Crab Apples - NOT amateur radio

This spring, our crab apple tree has plenty of blossom. Hopefully we’ll have a good harvest of crab apples later.

Crab apples - NOT amateur radio

When we moved here almost 6 years ago we inherited a crab apple tree. This has now grown.

2 years ago we had lots of crab apples. Last year we had just 15. This year we have hundreds.

A friend of my wife makes crab apple jelly, which we like. It is great with some meats.

Crab Apples - NOT amateur radio

Last year we had a very poor crop, but this year our crab apple tree is full (on the left)! Someone said that every other year will be good with a poor season in between. This may be an "old wives tale", but it does seem to fit. A friend of my wife makes crab-apple jelly and she gives us a jar. She will not be short this year.
