Not been on TX today

As today was a family birthday, I was not at home much of the day. Instead, I stayed on 8m FT8 RX all day.  I should be on TX on Tuesday.

Last week was our granddaughter’s birthday. We had some cake 🎂 in the garden.

It was relaxing day at home with the wind blowing outside.

Today I am 21 and quite a bit!  A few years ago I would have qualified for a free TV licence!

Yesterday, my wife was 21 and quite a bit!! We had our two sons and 3 of our 4 grandchildren around.

Two of our grandchildren are half French. On May 2nd their French grandfather has his birthday, so we took a photo in our back garden to send.

Today is our elder son's birthday. We went out with him for lunch yesterday in Cambridge.

Today is my birthday. I am 21 and (quite) a bit! One of my gifts was a voucher. I have bought an SDR with it.  

One of my presents is a signed book on the "History of Salcombe" by Roger Barrett. Salcombe is where I was brought up as a child. A good read over the holidays.

Another present from my son was champagne and a book on railway stations, again a good read. He always manages to choose presents people will like.

As my wife had her birthday last week, we ate lunch out with our son, who lives locally, at the Cote Brasserie in Cambridge. The photo shows my wife's desert. The candle was a total surprise to us all and a nice touch.

After 73 years, I am used to my birthday being a few days before Christmas.  

This is me with some of my presents. I hold an unofficial birthday in June, but keep forgetting!

Today is my birthday and may I wish all blog readers a very happy Christmas and a good holiday. 

This was a mid-winter holiday way before it was adopted as a Christian festival, so enjoy it whatever your faith or none. 

The important thing is always to treat others as you would like to be treated - kindly and respectfully no matter who you are, your race, colour or gender. In the last analysis we are all the same.

Today is my wife's birthday. We met in 1968. The photo shows her opening her cards and receiving a phone call from one of her brothers.

Our elder son is now 43, which seems scarcely believable. Where did those years go? The photo shows him with his children and my wife singing "happy birthday to you". We did not have 43 candles, so 1 had to do!
