My local radio club is advertising some faulty AVOs for free. I have no idea what is wrong, but this looks like a steal. At one time AVOs were considered the "Rolls Royce" of multi-meters.

AVO became part of Thorn EMI in the late 60's. Then when the division was sold off in the late 80's it came under the Megger brand. I am told the AVO. 8 MKIII was the best version.
