My 8m FT8 QRP TX was turned on 40.680 MHz USB dial at 1015z. So far, at 1343z, no spots. Periodically, I turn it off to cool.
UPDATE 1411z: Spotted again by HC02 (1808km) in Portugal. F2?

Later this week BBC Long Wave on 198kHz goes QRT for the last time. We went by the Droitwich TX yesterday on the train. Sad, but inevitable ...

At this time of the year I suspect, for this kind of path, a short sporadic E opening, or a meteor burst.
After all, the peak of the Perseid meteor shower is 11. - 14. this month.
