USDR - HF SSB transceiver for £115 anyone?

Steve G1KQH has just sent me an eBay link to yet another multi-band HF SSB SDR transceiver from China. This retails for about £115! How do they do it and make money?

QCX and open source gives a clue. Hans Summers QCX is a single band CW transceiver.
Some clever amateurs found that they could use software make it work on sideband. They then discarded a lot of components from the board which they didn't need.I think Hans was impressed with their programming and made the basic boards available for those who wanted to have a go.

This rig looks like a multiband development of that project. I don't know how Hans feels about that given his QSX is still in pre-production development. His QSX is designed to tight specifications. Perhaps this rig may require additional filtering on the output.
