Steve G1KQH recently sent me an email with some useful links on how to make 1/2 wave verticals. I am sharing it with you in case this gives you ideas.

These work rather well and are very easy to build. 25mm plastic conduit works a treat for the choke coil. I made a dual band version with the sleeve ( I used aluminium foil) it worked great with 1/1.4 swr on both bands.
