Although my health is less than brilliant, my XYL insists that building something would be good for me. Now you know how it is! These commands have to be obeyed!
Somewhere in a drawer, I have an unbuilt 20m Rockmite kit, although I do not have a very good 20m antenna. A few years ago (after my 2013 stroke) I managed to build a 40m Pixie transceiver kit and it worked.
The Rockmite really does not enthuse me. If you have any ideas for simple projects I could build, let me know. At one time almost anything was possible. These days even simple things are hard.
Simple QRP projects, 10m, 8m, 6m, 4m, FT8, 160m, WSPR, LF/MF, sub-9kHz, nanowaves and other random stuff, some not related to amateur radio.

There is a thing called a Zeta SDR which is very few parts. It is an SDR receiver you plug into a sound card. Rather sensitive.

Simple could be few components or it could be modular. I don't know how you feel about soldering. Low frequency circuits are perhaps more forgiving of construction methods, so choc block, tag board or plug in modules could be an option. George Dobbs advocated brass screws and screw cups for a simple radio set mounted on softwood in the 1970's.
You might find this video interesting. It explains how to use Audacity software to enhance your recorded voice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qZ9291KzwQ This may be useful if you are doing a video or if you want to record words and phrases to a digital recorder for playback on air. It could also give you an insight in to what kind of speech processing might be most useful to you, other than just VOGAD and peak clipping. Voice banking seems quite expensive but it may be possible to produce a no cost alternative sufficient to save a reasonable amount of speech effort.
