10m FT8

After (at last) spotting some "real" DX on 10m FT8 yesterday, I am again on 10m FT8 during the daylight hours. Initially I called CQ (2.5W), although I am now RX only. As yet, no spots given or received.

UPDATE 0916z: 2 G spots so far on 10m FT8 RX here. Best DX so far on 10m FT8 RX is G4HZW (212km).

UPDATE 1047z: Now an Italian and Sicilian spotted. Es? The map shows stations spotted on 10m FT8 in the last 24 hours.

UPDATE  1514z: With 21 stations in 7 EU countries I am wondering if we are seeing the real start of the Es season? Of course, it could be there are more stations active wanting to catch Es and these stations might be available outside the Es season if they were active.

Another factor Roger is that more people are on the radio at the weekend.

I think the openings on Friday and Saturday were just some of the smaller Sp-E openings that precede the bigger ones at the end of April.

This is what I heard for the 5th & 6th of April...https://ei7gl.blogspot.com/2019/04/opening-to-west-africa-and-south.html

Interesting that you heard VP8LP on Friday, maybe your antenna isn't so bad after all?

Well maybe the antenna works well N-S? Yes John you are correct: it is likely more people will be on over weekends.
