Until I went QRT last evening (thunderstorm risk) most spots were G stations.
Then, out of the blue, at 2120z last night a spot from 4X1RF (3519km) in Israel of my 1W ERP 6m WSPR signal. No Es around indicating multi-hop Es. In fact I am convinced this is not multi-hop Es. He has now spotted me on 3 different days this summer and many times last summer on 6m WSPR. No, if this is Es then it is some other mechanism. These spots occur often and there is no evidence of Es at closer (intermediate) range.

Interesting Roger it was quiet for me in the evening as well, though I had a spot from Stockholm earlier, then at 21:24 I spotted OK1DX and DK8NE, then nothing but local stations. Both of these were on a heading to Israel. Obviously I was receiving during this vital period.

Nick
I just moved this reply, as I managed to post it in the wrong place
Hello Roger, I made several contacts from Greece to Norway and Ireland on SSB/JT65 and CW yesterday evening. So, ES was there....here. Still using the W2000 (V2000 clone) here. 73, Bas
6m WSPR suffers as there are not enough stations active. It is possible this WAS multi-hop Es but no users active on 6m at the "hop points". I still wonder if some of these long paths are Es with "layer tilt" so no intermediate ground bounce is needed?
