The FT991 is unlikely to be available in UK until next year says the MLS website according to G1KQH. Price likely to be just under £1000. That would be a LOT more than the FT450D.

having vhf and uhf in addition to hf makes it attractive. I suppose a replacement for the FT-897 though I hope it is not going to be as deaf or as noisy. I would like to have something like the good old FT-847, which has an excellent receiver.
