Norwich - NOT amateur radio
My brother is visiting from Devon. He wanted to go to Norwich, so we went by train. Much of the stone for the cathedral was brought be sea and river from Normandy in France nearly 1000 years ago. They built a canal to transport the stones from the River Wensum to the cathedral. The cathedral took 49 years to build. The photo show's Pool's Ferry where the canal began.

Norwich - NOT amateur radio
In our minds, Norwich is one of the nicest cities in the UK. It has a Norman cathedral and castle, some very old streets, fine shops and a good market amongst its many attractions.
The photo shows one street not far from the cathedral.

Norwich - NOT amateur radio
As the sun was shining, we decided to go by train to Norwich for the day. It has a fine Norman cathedral and is one of the most delightful cities in the UK. We always enjoy going there. This was the train back home.

More Norwich - NOT amateur radio
This is another picture of Norwich taken yesterday. It shows the market reflected in sunglasses.
On many levels, Norwich is a great city. By road it is about 1 hour 15 minutes away. By train from Ely it takes about 1 hour.

Norwich, Norfolk, UK - NOT amateur radio
Today, we went by train to Norwich. It has a fine Norman cathedral built almost 1000 years ago with stone brought all the way from Caen in France. This beggars belief. No power tools, no power boats, just hard labour.
We love Norwich. It is one of the few cities I could live in.

Mustard - NOT amateur radio
For 160 years Colman's has had a mustard factory in Norwich. Even the local football team is called "the Canaries" after the yellow mustard. Now Unilever is closing its Norwich site - a sad day. They are transferring production to Burton-on-Trent and Germany. No doubt, this will be to save money and streamline the business. Never mind those who will lose jobs. Capitalism - leave it to the markets.

Norwich - NOT amateur radio
We have grandchildren staying with us for a few days. Today we went to Norwich and the little ones had a great time. Clearly amateur radio take a back seat when they are here.
