Today for about 6 hours we had all our 4 grandchildren together. It was great.
The boys played well together as well as the girls.
My wife and I are behind.

Cooking - NOT amateur radio
Our elder granddaughter loves cooking and completely makes herself at home in the kitchen. This is how we like it.
We hope, in years to come, all our grandchildren look back on these days with fondness.

Quiet again - NOT amateur radio
After a few days with 2 of our young grandchildren, the house is now quiet again. We love having them, but I get tired more easily than I did. The photo shows them with my wife and a neighbour outside earlier in the sunshine.

Guided bus to St Ives - NOT amateur radio
We have 2 of our 4 grandchildren staying with us. Today we went by guided bus to St. Ives, Cambs. The children really enjoyed it. It was a good day out, helped by the glorious, warm, February weather. I expect they will want to go again!
As old age pensioner it is a free trip for us with our bus passes, although we had to pay for the children. We ate lunch out at the "Oliver Cromwell" pub not far from the river. Food and service were excellent. It had a nice "buzz" and I'd happily eat there again.

Knackered! - NOT amateur radio
We have had a busy period over Christmas and New Year with people around for about 2 weeks. Today, the last of the grandchildren went home. We are exhausted!
Although we love seeing our children and grandchildren, we are also pleased when the house is again tidy and quiet. We are both over 70 years old now and it is now over 5 years since my brain bleed. Perhaps we tire more easily nowadays? My mother-in-law had a saying, "nice to see you come, nice to see you go". I know what she meant!

All quiet again - NOT amateur radio
My mother-in-law had an expression, "nice to see you, nice to see you go". Having had the grandchildren for a week, lovely though this is, I am exhausted! Totally. I guess we are older and have less energy these days. We love having them, but is also nice to be tidy again, and quiet.

Early Halloween party - NOT amateur radio
Yesterday I mentioned that school starts again before Halloween, so an early party at Granny and Grampy was called for. We had this tonight along with silly games. They still love it, although we know these days will soon pass.

Grandchildren - NOT amateur radio
We have had two of our grandchildren here this weekend.
This is one of my granddaughters having a cuddle on the settee in the lounge. It is wet outside.
They are growing up all too fast. In a few years she will not want to do this.
