Free Scrapbook PDF

This is a gentle reminder that my Project Scrapbook is available as a free PDF download on my main website. 

It is really a dump of my life in amateur radio and you might enjoy some of the projects.  I have had lots of fun and wish you can enjoy it too.

It is time I updated it as some of my recent things are not included!

Autumn and winter project

During the dark evenings this autumn and winter I intend to update my PDF Project Scrapbook. There have been a few changes to rigs that I should include. Also, there is more to say about 8m and 23cm.

Need to update scrapbook

My scrapbook needs updating. I shall do this in the coming weeks and make sure the link on my website points to the latest version. I think the main changes are I now have a QMX+ and having a bundle of fun. There may be some other things that need updating.

My free PDF G3XBM Project Scrapbook

In my life in the amateur radio hobby, I have been very fortunate. If others can have as much fun as I have, it will please me greatly. My website has a link to the latest version of this book. It is totally free and money is not expected. Just have fun!

You can just browse it, download the lot or just the bits that take your fancy. As I always say, I am sure my projects may be improved, so treat these as starting points.

At some point, I must update it as there have been a few changes of late.

That darn book!

Current email footer

In my email footer are links to my various websites. For the life of me, I cannot see why putting a link to the shared file of my free PDF book always included the file as an attachment as well!  

As this is a 12.8MB file some emails may reject it!  I searched the settings, but cannot see why it does this.

Instead, I have put a link to the book page on my website. So, clicking there is a link to the latest edition. This seems fine.

My PDF book - latest edition (issue 4)

Hopefully, the latest edition of my free G3XBM Project Scrapbook is now available. It is now at issue 4. Do not worry about missing versions. Several minor changes were made so I have published issue 4.

Modifying links will take me a little while. Please not that the tiny URL always goes to the first edition.

UPDATE 1507z: I think the link on my website, blog sidebar and email footer now point to issue 4. If you still cannot access it, please check with me. It certainly worked from my wife's iPad. The file is a PDF. As I make future issues, I shall try to point to the latest version.

UPDATE 2300z: For some reason my email footer always insists in adding the darn PDF book as well. Looking at the Gmail settings I can see no reason why. For now, I have removed the link to the latest version of the book from my email footer. This requires investigation!!

UPDATE 1306z:  Someone in the USA has very kindly made a donation. Thank you! As I have said before, I have absolutely no wish to make any money at all from this book. It is a labour of love. I shall give this to the local foodbank, but I really appreciate the kindness.

Free Scrapbook PDF reminder

This is just a reminder that my G3XBM Project Scrapbook is available as a free download. 

You can just look at it online or, if you want to, download it and print off. You could always just print off what you want. I want no money for this. I just want people to realise our hobby does not have to be expensive at all, and experimentation is fun.

This is just a reminder that my free PDF G3XBM Project Scrapbook is available if you want to download it. It is a brain dump mainly of the projects I have done over the years. My intention is to share the fun of low cost experimenting and building. I hope it triggers you to have a go yourself. 

I have no wish whatsoever to make any money. If I get any donations at all, they will go to the local foodbank.

I was hoping to link to issue 2, but for some reason the link still goes to issue 1! I am working on this. My idea was this link would always take you to the latest version. If you know why this does not work, please tell me. Maybe this is a "feature" of the tinyurl?

That free PDF book - this week?

Barring last minute issues, my personal aim is to complete my free PDF Scrapbook this week. The trouble is, I still think of things to add!  If I think of any more, they will have to wait for a future update.

My hope is that this collection will lead to your own ideas and be a springboard. At least producing a free PDF book allows you to make updates whenever you want and if the grammar and spelling are not perfect, too bad. 

After all, good engineers are usually poor at grammar and spelling. This is in my opinion from work days. I guess it is something to do with how our brains work. Tell me the last time you can remember a good engineer who was also good at poetry? I have known at least one, but these are the exceptions.

That free PDF book

Tomorrow is the last day of May. We have visitors, so I shall not finish the book as planned by the end of May! 

My current deadline (self imposed) is mid-June. If I manage to do it sooner, you will hear it here!
