Trevor G0KTN is again experimenting with 8m Q65. This time he is trying Q65 120E. As yet, I have yet to spot him. Ours is a difficult path. I shall keep monitoring today.

UPDATE 1236z: Monitoring 8m Q65. Switched to RX on the V2000 vertical (was on the Par endfed for 10m). No spots.
UPDATE 1603z: No spots of G0KTN.
This is a mode I have never tried. Overnight I am doing some tests with G0KTN. Q65 takes fragments of messages and uses these to build up the message. For these tests the power will be 2.5W. I have no idea if it will work.
UPDATE 2115z: No spots.
After a brief TX period on FT8 (one local FT8 spot) and then Q65, I am now on FT8 RX only.
UPDATE 1044z: Nobody spotted on 8m FT8 RX.
My 8m station was turned on at about 0800z. Initially, I tried sending some Q65 for a test with a station in Bath without success. I am was on 8m FT8 with just a local spot.
UPDATE 0924z: Currently monitoring 40.680 MHz USB dial FT8.
UPDATE 2025z: QRT. Only local spots of me. On RX the furthermost was EI9KP (649km).
Southgate News reports that a new digital mode may be coming later this year called Q65 as part of WSJT-X suite. I have just downloaded the latest release candidate for WSJT-X (2.3.0-rc3), but I have not checked if it is there.
