Kingfisher - NOT amateur radio

It is some years since I last saw a kingfisher. Usually you just see them skimming low over the water or on a branch overlooking a stream. 

The blue appears iridescent. They are spectacular. Photos rarely capture how magnificent they are.

    Down here in ZL at the moment we tend to hear Kōtare (New Zealand Kingfisher) rather than see them, although I see them every month or so perching off powerlines, waiting to pounce. They come in an array of colours, from pure black to iridescent greens and blues.
