6m Super DX?
ZL2IFB has again been spotted in North America and Europe on 6m FT8. It remains to be seen if this is genuine. I have my doubts, but hope I am proved wrong.
Years ago I proved you can easily fool the system by spotting in other continents via a webSDR. Hopefully I'm wrong but I haven't seen a large 6m beam on ZL2IFB's website. However he is at 260m asl. So, who knows....73, Bas
I wonder if a lot of these spots are from people not having the correct frequency on their FT8 software.
See the two examples below... DK2JP said the ZL station was on 6m but lots of other have spots on 17m around the same time.

I was one of those that spotted him, and I was certainly on 6m at the time (it's a dedicated 6m spotting setup). I have no doubt the signal was on 6m. Whether it originated in ZL though, I'm not so sure.

ReplyDeleteDavid - try approaching him by email? Yes, I know your report was a genuine 6m spot, but seeing all those 17m spots has made me suspicious!
