This evening I copied
DL6TY (629km) calling CQ in FT8 on 630m. Although I called him, he did not copy me. This is the first time I have decoded anyone on FT8 on 630m. This will become
the communications mode on most bands. I have now gone back to 630m WSPR.
I hope FT8 doesn't become dominant over JT9 on 630 as the extra sensitivity is well worth the extra waiting time, at least on MF. It's also much less frantic for two-way work, with time to think about your next response or choose from various responders.
ReplyDeleteYour FT8 catches on a 'dead' 10m band are truly eye-opening!
