EU referendum - NOT amateur radio

See http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-35751919 .

It seems a bit suspicious that the banks and big business want us to vote IN. At the moment I am in favour of IN, but I could well be persuaded otherwise if the facts are clearly presented without the spin.

  1. The supremacy of EU law over our own is not in the interests of British democracy.

Vote OUT if you believe that the UK should only be governed by her own citizens and that its governance shall at all times be conducted first and foremost in the interests of the United Kingdom and its peoples and that the only laws that should apply within the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom are those wholly made by the Parliament of the United Kingdom.

Our country - our laws, debated by the British people !

The current system is a bodge.

In the good old days, there was a direct lineage of our own Parliament , our MP's and
the electorate when it come to any legislation.

These days the first you know about EU law effecting our lives is when you read about
it in the papers when some faceless eurocrats have been doing deals out of view and
the usual scrutiny we were used to in the past.

Here's a good example of complete EU stupidity.

They made it illegal to sell electrical goods with linear PSU's in them or to be
supplied with them. As you know, switched mode PSU's are a disaster for EMC, and have a
very high failure rate. The latter ensures built in obsolescence to just about any
electrical product you buy. What a wonder gift to consumers, who can expect nothing to
last much more than a couple of years. And we the consumer then have to pay for the
replacement products, with the same obsolescence.

And then to add insult to injury, we can't just throw the broken items in the bin because
we have to comply with WEEE regulations. More hassle for the consumer. And more cost
to local councils (paid for by increased council taxes) that have to provide appropriate
    disposal facilities.

Never mind the other well known popular topics - Daily Mail readers will know ;-)

Don't believe the scare stories by the Project Fear mob, lets get out as soon as
    possible.

  2. Thanks Andy. The question is down to, despite its obvious shortcomings, is there a net gain by being IN?

  3. You asked is there a net gain by being IN?

Well you might be able to answer your own question by naming the absolute tangible
benefits that YOU see. Note, these need to be tangible benefits, backed up with figures
    and facts only.

If you can't see any, then why bother paying to be being in, and losing democracy at the
    same time ?
