472kHz WSPR spots of my QRPp signal so far |
Results with the end fed Par 10/20/40m antenna (with strapped feeder) are better than with the feeder to the 2m/70cm yagi. Today
M0PPP (182km) and
G3WCB (101km) have spotted me in the daytime for the first time this season. I came back to the 472kHz band yesterday.
Hi Roger,
ReplyDeleteI just tuned my rig to the 630m band for the first time ever and quickly spotted you and a number of others. I think I'm going to find this band rather interesting to try out.

David, it is a fascinating band indeed. Luckily the noise floor here on 630m is low. Otherwise people try loops on RX only.
ReplyDeleteBTW, most people quote ERP on this band as it is not unusual to have antennas that are 30,40 or even 50dB down on a dipole. ERP tends to be more meaningful on LF and MF. G4KPX in Ely uses an indoor 630m TX loop and low TX power. His ERP is around 1uW yet he is regularly spotted in Germany on WSPR.
