New 500kHz beacon in Norway LA1ASK/B

A temporary beacon LA1ASK/B will be operational during May until mid-June from the island of Toftöy near Bergen, Norway (locator JP20LL).  Frequency 509 kHz, mode A1A (CW), transmitter power 5 W to a 35 m vertical antenna.     We have 500 kĦz in Malta.

    Temporary permit for interested applicants valid up to end 2011 and permanent allocation if approved by WRC next year, but will try to extend deadline.

    It has been included in the National Frequency Plan

    They fixed a mistake because initially they had given us 495 – 504 kĦz

    Anyone interested may fill in an application to the Malta Communications Authority and be issued with a 9Ħ9 call.

    I don't know if they will allow me to use my 9Ħ9MĦR call which I managed to get issued permanently to me together with my 9Ħ1AV call years back.
