It's possible especially on your maternal line. My understanding is that recent DNA work shows that when the Saxons arrived they displaced the previous male line almost entirely. The Devon/Dorset coast was very heavily settled by Saxons. Unfortunately history isn't always what we might prefer to believe. A good example being some Scotish Isles that have an oral history of strongly resisting the Vikings have been shown by DNA to be almost 100% descended from Vikings.
