40MHz experimental station in the USA

According to John's blog there is an experimental station WL2XUP active in the USA on the 8m band. As time progresses a bigger antenna and more power are planned.

Is this the first of many?

wl2xup is also allowed to use 72.100-72.250 MHz.

He is authorized to only use his Flex Radios 1500, 6300, 6600m w/transverters.
