Hi Roger,
Did you ever decide if you needed two stages of audio amplification in your FT8 receiver? I want to build an RX similar to yours and zeroing in a diode ring (or two diodes) for this design.

You may get away with one AF stage. Try it!
Jack, do not be afraid to see what works best for you. My schematics are always starting points and if you can make it simpler or better, great. Good luck!
